Miami Beach's only quasi-wilderness park, bordered by sea grapes, coconut trees and dunes planted with sea oats, the natural-looking beach runs from 87th to 72nd. Streets, exactly one mile, along Collins Avenue in the North Shore district . East of the avenue is a public wooded park, then dunes and the long, flat beach. There are restrooms, picnic tables, grills, showers, a nature trail, bike path, exercise trail. The park is open from sunrise to sunset and lifeguards are on duty daily. At the southern end there is lonely two-block Ocean Terrace bordering the beach with a trio of two-star small art-deco hotels Ocean Surf, Days Inn North Beach and Ocean Way. We only wish Ocean Terrace could have extended all the way up the beach. It would have made Miami Beach one long Ocean Drive. What an exiting thought, crushed by greedy developers. There were a few private residences engulfed when the park was created, but for the most part, you can enjoy the beach without a high rise background, one of the few places in Miami Beach where there may be some experience of being on a tropical shore. |
Thousands of people come to Haulover Beach on a sunny day. Simply put, Haulover Beach is one of the best clothing-optional beaches in the world, as ranked by many online and print publications. As many as 7,000 people visit the beach in a single day. Because clothing is optional, some visitors remained clothed.
Although Haulover Nude Beach is only a small portion of the larger Haulover Beach Park, approximately 66% to 85% of visitors use the nude beach area. Therefore, it is quite friendly to people who want to go nude. Haulover Nude Beach is situated between the Intercostal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean and is part of Haulover Beach Park.
